Adult Sunday School

We offer adult Sunday School classes during our 9:45 and 11:00 Sunday morning worship hours. Please feel free to visit any or all of our classes.  Adults of any age are welcome to attend any class. Each of our Sunday School classes participate in local, regional, and international missions. The Connect class is comprised of parents with children of all ages seeking “connection” with Christ and each other. Studies include the books of the Bible and conversations on relevant topics.

Fellowship
Room S2 (Main building downstairs)

The Fellowship class, comprised of older adults, is a member-led class that focuses on in-depth studies in the Old and New Testaments. Our “family” orientation encourages support of each other in good and difficult times, while enjoying quarterly socials and funding mission activities during the year. Upcoming and previous studies include: Crash Test Dummies: Surprising Lessons from the Book of Judges (Talbot Davis), Creed: What Christians Believe and Why (Adam Hamilton), Top United Methodists Beliefs (Don Adams), The Shadow of Doubt: Confronting Challenges to Faith (Talbot Davis), Moses: In the Footsteps of the Reluctant Prophet (Adam Hamilton), Seven Letters to Seven Churches (Douglas Connelly), God Unbound: Wisdom from Galations for the Anxious Church (Elaine Heath).

Good News Ambassadors

The Good News Ambassadors class typically engage in short-term book studies (6-12 weeks) on Bible- based topics.

Goodwill
Room S1 (Main building downstairs)

The Goodwill class is comprised of senior adults who support each other as a family in both difficult and good times. We follow the Adult International Bible Studies quarterly curriculum, and our teaching is led by volunteer members each Sunday. We welcome everyone to join us in our journey to better understand the teachings of Jesus.

New Friendship
Room S3 (Main building downstairs)

New Friendship is a warm, friendly, smaller or cozier group that is comprised of adults seeking fellowship with Christ. Studies in the past have included 40 Days of Decrease (Alicia Britt Chole), The Essential Guide to Deliverance (Larry Richards), Facing Your Giants (Max Lucado), and Digital Disciple (Adam Thomas). Members rotate the facilitating of the lesson. Mission involvement includes Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity, and 1st Wednesday fellowship dinners.

Seekers

The Seekers class is a fun-loving group of adult couples (kids from elementary to college) and singles that have a close bond with each other and provide support in good and difficult times. We chose the name “Seekers” as we are always seeking to learn more about God and to continue growing in the faith. Studies, led by rotating members, include books of the Bible, Word, seasonal studies, and current topics. Our upcoming studies include: Book of Genesis, Great Characters of the Bible, Advent study, and Separation of Church & State. The group “seeks” mission opportunities and is currently involved with Backpack Ministry, Helen Wright, Family Promise, Angel Tree, UMM/UMW and have been regulars at First Wednesday Fellowship Dinners.

Sonrise

The Sonrise class is very mission focused with involvement with CSI, Prison Ministry, Sunrise Assisted Living, Backpack Ministry, Family Promise, ZOE Ministry, Heifer Project Ministry, and NRUMC Youth. Future studies are undecided currently but included God is in the Manger (Dietrich Bonhoeffer). The class is Bible-centered and enjoys lively discussion.

The Well

The Well Class is an adult class of singles and couples of all ages. We are diverse in age, professions, ideas and where we are in our journey with Christ. The Well Class is not only a small group within our church; we are a family that cares for each other’s well-being. Our class time consists of prayer, sharing, study, and lively discussion of biblically-based lessons led by various members who provide robust discussions and much humor. We love to laugh! Outside of class we have various social gatherings, including an annual Christmas event that raises funds for local missions. We have participated in mission activities such as Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise, UMM/UMW, 1st Wednesday Night Dinners, and families in need.

Reflections

The Reflections class is open to all adults. Our purpose is to learn from God’s Word how to live out our lives through understanding God’s ways and purposes through study of Scripture and biblically-related topics. Previous studies include Longing to Pray (J. Ellsworth Kalas).
