Purpose: The purpose of the United Methodist
Men of NRUMC (in brief, NRUMM) is to grow spiritually;
develop as Christian leaders in home, church, and everyday
life; engage in activities which support NRUMC, the
N.C. Conference and national and international programs;
perform service activities on the church building and
grounds; enjoy the fellowship of all UMM in regular
meetings.
Meetings: The NRUMM meet on the second Saturday
of each month in the Fellowship Hall, from 8:30 am to
10:00 am. House projects may occur from time to time,
but without replacing the regular meeting. Each meeting
consists of an opening of up to 1/2 hour before 8:30
with coffee and sweet rolls, prayer, a brief devotion,
a program, using outsiders when possible (varied to
include such as financial consultants, talks of travels,
missionaries).
Membership: All men who are age 18 or over and
who are members of NRUMC are members of NRUMM. There
are no exclusions.
Activities:
- Help with grounds keeping and light projects in
church buildings.
- Fund raising: principal projects are the barbecue
dinners each Spring and Fall. Virtually all income
from any project is devoted to missions;
- Dineamate or Attractions discount books.
- Annual Sweetheart Banquet in February
- Sunrise breakfast each Easter morning
- ARK Shelter - coordinate monthly dinners provided
by other sections of NRUMC, such as the
- Sunday School Classes; provide at least one meal
for the ARK as a NRUMM function.
