North Raleigh United Methodist Preschool is "The Place to Be" for your young child.

Our philosophy is that children learn through play. Children are naturally curious. Experiences that allow them to touch, see, hear, taste and smell, through creativity, exploration and manipulation, are the backbone to activities which are designed to help children realize their full potential. Children learn God's love for them by seeing that love in their caretakers and through a Christian-based curriculum.

Registration Information

Registration will be held in late January/early February for the 2007-2008 school year, which begins following Labor Day.

Registration packets will be available in January in the Preschool office, in the church narthex and on this website.

Classes & Schedule

For 2007-08, we will offer the following classes:

Classes are held Mondays through Thursdays, from 9:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. All children bring their own lunch each day of class.

The cut-off date for ages is October 15.

NRUM Preschool is not an allergy-free preschool

NRUMP Staff and Programs

Our staff is well educated and dedicated to making the preschool experience interesting, challenging and age-appropriate. All staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid. Teachers follow guidelines established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

In addition to the classroom setting, children attend Music Class each week, and enjoy the excellent playground. Four's and Five's also attend Movement Class and Chapel weekly. New for the 2007-08 school year, Spanish and Science/Discovery Class will be added for the Fours and Fives.

Other special programs throughout the year include special Activity Days, puppet shows, plays, and visits from the fire station. Fours and Fives take several field trips throughout the year.

Volunteers

NRUMP has vibrant volunteer committees allowing parents and families to take an active role in making the preschool a wonderful and caring community. The Director holds regular coffees for parents to encourage dialogue and build relationships.

NRUMP Staff and Programs

NRUMP offers a scholarship program to help families that need assistance in paying tuition. Please contact the director for more information about this program.
