Senior Pastors

eric lindbladeEric Lindblade, Senior Pastor – EMAIL ERIC

Since June 2012, Susan and I, as senior co-pastors, articulate vision, lead the staff, preach, administer, teach, shepherd our congregation, and encourage the church to reach out into the world. Before coming to NRUMC, I was senior pastor at Ann Street UMC in Beaufort, NC.

I was born in Cleveland, OH, and raised in Springfield, OH, a city of about 70,000. I received both my BA and M. Div. from Duke University.

Susan and I have been married for 35 years and have one son, Eric Alexander, who is 31. He lives in Gettysburg, PA, and was married in August of 2013.

I love NRUMC, but most of all, I appreciate the energy that I feel here. I enjoy working with a dedicated and talented staff and congregation filled with people seeking to serve Christ. And the Triangle gives me so many ways to spend my free time, such as baseball, reading, walking, golfing, and astronomy/cosmology.

Along with Eric, I am Senior Co-Pastor, with specific leadership responsibility for areas of evangelism and outreach as well as staff liaison for JOY senior adult ministry and Stephen Ministry. NRUMC provides so many areas of ministry, and that’s one thing I love so much about it. I find shepherding this diverse and dedicated church family, as well as working with our energetic and talented staff to be life-giving! Before coming to NRUMC, I was the pastor of St. James UMC in Newport, NC for 14 years.

I was born in Miami, FL, and received my BA in Religion and Philosophy from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 1976, then a Master of Divinity from Duke University in 1979.
Eric and I have been married for 35 years and have one son, Eric, a Civil War historian/author and owner of Ten Roads Publishing, LLC in Gettysburg, PA. He has been married to his wife, Lindsey, since August of 2013.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, sports of all kinds, all things related to flying and aviation, walking along the beach, and sitting quietly on my deck.
