Kathleen Snyder

Kathleen Snyder, Minister of Education - Kathleen grew up in Iowa and is a graduate of Iowa State
University with a BS degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.
Work and family have given her the opportunity to call New
York, South Carolina and Kentucky home since graduating from
college. Over the years, Kathleen has enjoyed volunteering
as a confirmation mentor, Sunday School teacher, children's
music leader, VBS volunteer, and bell and chancel choir
member through her church work.
She has also enjoyed volunteering in the public school system
assisting classroom teachers and serving as a student tutor.
Kathleen and her husband Gary have two children, and her hobbies include needlework, sewing, home
improvements, gardening, and reading.

Jill Brown

Jill Brown, Parish Nurse - Jill was born in Washington, DC and raised in Northern Virginia. She graduated from Alexandria
Hospital School of Nursing and attended Duke University’s Health and Nursing Ministries Program where she received
her certificate as a Parish Nurse. During her more than twenty years as a nurse she has worked in
Oncology / Bone Marrow Transplant; Trauma / Cardiac Intensive Care; Surgery and Gastroenterology. Jill
and her husband Doug met in high school. They have two children, Elizabeth a North Carolina Teaching
Fellow who attends Meredith College and Adam who attends Millbrook High School. Members of NRUMC since
they moved to Raleigh in 1994, Jill has served in many areas such as a Sunday School Teacher, Youth
Counselor, Cherub Choir Director, LOGOS Volunteer Confirmation Mentor and mission team member. In her
free time, Jill enjoys knitting, crocheting, Bible study, gardening, walking, playing clarinet and
volunteering at school.
