North
Raleigh United Methodist Church is a community of Christians
at different stages in their spiritual journeys. We are bound
by a common need to worship, praise, and serve our Lord. Our
mission is to foster an atmosphere of fellowship and caring
in which everyone is led by the Spirit toward a closer relationship
with God; to encourage enthusiastic involvement in a variety
of ministries; and to extend God's love to a hurting and broken
world.
People
That's what North Raleigh United Methodist Church is really
all about. People united in praise and service to Jesus Christ.
Friendly people, welcoming people. People from all walks of
life, from salespeople to homemakers to bankers to child care
workers. People of all ages, from newborns to senior citizens.
People involved in ministry. People involved in teaching and
learning. People who love the Lord.
Worship
At NRUMC, we have three worship services each Sunday morning!
Our traditional services are held at 8:30 and 11:00 in the
sanctuary. Traditional worship includes singing of hymns and
use of congregational prayers and traditional creeds of the
church. Our contemporary worship service, Souljourn, is held
at 9:45 in the fellowship hall. Souljourn is a contemporary
worship experience which involves all of our senses in praise
and adoration of God. Led by our clergy and Exaltation!, our
orchestra and worship music leaders, we are refreshed and
strengthened for our journeys of faith and life in Jesus Christ.
We have two sessions of Sunday School each week, at 9:45
and 11:00. Each session has classes for children, youth and
adults. And we also have a fully-staffed nursery for the entire
morning.
Of course, we also have special services on significant days,
such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good
Friday, and Easter sunrise.
Education
Christian education has always been important at North Raleigh
United Methodist. Of course, we have classes for children
(from age three) and youth
(through high school), led by an enthusiastic and well-loved
group of teachers. But because we never stop learning, we
have a wide range of Adult
Sunday School classes as well.
Since people learn in different ways, class formats range
from lectures to open discussion. And because people want
to learn about different things, class topics range from Bible
study to life applications to social principles. No matter
how much you know, there's always more to learn!
Come join us!
No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you're
always welcome here. Maybe you've been involved with the church
all your life. Maybe you're rediscovering a faith you thought
you once lost. Or maybe you're hearing and understanding the
gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time. Whatever path you're
on, you'll find a group of fellow travelers ready to welcome
you and share your walk at North Raleigh United Methodist
Church.
